Frequently Asked Questions

You will receive an email from a member of the Information Services team letting you know your account is ready to be activated. Click the link and input the one-time activation code as directed. If you think you missed getting the email, please contact the Information Services Desk by phone or email (helpdesk@unity.edu) for assistance.

This happens occasionally for a number of reasons, but fixing it is easy! Close the web browser, re-open it and sign in again.

You have a couple of options for accessing library resources for your research:

1. Start by searching UNI-Search! through the search box on our homepage. This tool searches almost all of the library resources, including books, articles, and videos.
2. Credo Reference is a great database to start with because it gives you background information on your topic.
3. If you know what database you need to use, start by going to the Databases A-Z page.
4. Our Research Process guide will help you through every step of your research process.
5. And finally, remember we are here to help, just ask us!

Our Databases A-Z list provides a complete list of databases available to the Unity Environmental University community.

The one-time activation code is used to activate your student account. It will arrive in an email from a member of the Information Services team.

Changing your Unity Account password should fix it. It may take up to 15 minutes for the password change to take effect in Google.

Yes. Standard letter size cost is $0.15 per side of page. This cost will be deducted from your PaperCut account.

Go to my.unity.edu and click the “Forgot Password?” link. Follow the steps from there. If you are unable to reset your password this way, please contact the Information Services Desk by phone or in person for assistance.

As of 2024, Unity Environmental University uses QGIS in coursework, which is free and open source.

Yes, mostly. We allow gaming consoles and other media devices to connect to the college network. If you experience a problem using a particular device on the network, please contact us and we’ll try to help. Please note some devices will be unable to connect to our network.

1. There is a 24 hour help chat available within Canvas. Click the ? in the lower left of your dashboard.
2. If this does not resolve your issue, contact your instructor with details about the Canvas issue and they will escalate the issue.
3. If your instructor is unavailable, email the Help Desk at helpdesk@unity.edu.

 

Your tuition covers the cost of a Microsoft Office Subscription. Your licence is automatically activated for you. You only have to download and install it! Office is available for both Windows and Mac.

Canvas is the Learning Management System (LMS) for Unity Environmental University. It allows students to access course content, assignments, grades, and communications with the instructor.
